Bonnie De Beer (Hayman) (AIDT, ARAD)

Bonnie De Beer (Hayman) (AIDT, ARAD) has been dancing since the age of 4, having won many of the SASAD’S coveted trophies. The Jimmy Bolton twice, the Most Versatile Dancer and The Margaret Barbieri to name just a few. As a student she was trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, National, Greek, Spanish and Acrobatics and completed her Advanced exams in Ballet, Modern & Tap. She was also awarded the South African Bursary for Ballet. Bonnie is a qualified RAD and AIDT teacher for Graded (Junior) and Vocational Graded (Senior) Ballet, Modern & Tap exams. Bonnie danced at the Carousel Casino and Entertainment World in Gauteng, South Africa.

After dancing professionally at the Donald Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, USA, Bonnie returned to join Kim in the studio. She is co-owner of Hayman Dance with her sister Kim. Whilst starting her teaching career, Bonnie continued to dance professionally in and around Durban for many years. Bonnie has been a Mentor for numerous RAD training teachers and was accepted on the 2018 Examiner training Programme. After successfully completing the training programme, she was accepted onto the Board of International RAD Examiners.

Kim Felix (Hayman) (AIDT)

Kim Felix (Hayman)(AIDT) opened her own studio in 1988. She was later joined by her sister Bonnie. Kim is a qualified AIDT teacher and has a passion for choreography. Kim’s outstanding choreographic ability has produced work of an extremely high standard.

Her creative gifting and love of the stage and performance was the reason why the South African Dance Awards Programme was developed.

Although Kim is now based in Cape Town, she visits Durban often and spends many hours in the studio living out her passion.

Savanah de Beer

She is a key member of the faculty for both syllabus and open class work.

Claire Tomlinson (ARAD)

Claire Tomlinson (ARAD) is a qualified RAD teacher. She attained her CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) after the completion of her ballet training up to and including her Advanced Two. In addition to these studies, she was schooled for a year at the UCT School of Dance and danced for the Zimbabwe Junior National Ballet. Claire spent a year as an assistant pre-school teacher and has been teaching classical ballet for 7 years.

Claire joined the studio at the beginning of 2018 and quickly found her place as a valued member of the faculty. She is dedicated to developing the art of ballet and encouraging the students to achieve their best whilst nurturing their love of dance.

Farren Hutchinson

Farren joined the team in 2018. He is an experienced Hip Hop teacher who is currently still dancing professionally. His professional experience, choreographic skills and nurturing personality, brings a perfect balance to the classes that he teaches, encouraging not only females but males too.

Casey Swales (AIDT)

Casey Swales (AIDT) is a freelance dance teacher and choreographer who has worked with, taught, coached and shared his dance experience with numerous dance studios and organisations in and around South Africa. We are thrilled that he has join our dancing family. Casey has been dancing both in South Africa and abroad since the early age of 11 years. His career path has been diverse and exposure in shows, performances, corporate events and functions as well as music videos, theatre events and seasons with professional dance companies, has given him a firm grounding in the performing arts and entertainment industry. Casey started his teacher training in 2008 with professional dance company Mzansi Productions, and has continued this path of training, teaching and coaching over the last 9 years with numerous dance schools, academies and facilities in and around KZN and South Africa. Casey currently lives in Durban, dancing, choreographing and teaching in the areas of Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Piano and Aerial Silk

In the office Bonnie is assisted by Kelly Riggien who joined the team in 2024.

Miss Vuyo is the friendly face that will greet you when you arrive at the studio and is the person responsible for keeping our studio beautiful and clean.
